Flat Roofing in Liverpool. Rubber, Felt or Fibreglass, Fitted on Evidence
Flat roofing in Liverpool is a big part of what Element Roofing Solutions does: garages, rear extensions, dormers and bay roofs across Allerton, Mossley Hill, Aigburth, Childwall and Wavertree, fitted in EPDM rubber, high-performance felt or GRP fibreglass.
Every roof is surveyed by drone before we quote, so you see what we see and the recommendation is based on the condition of your deck, not a salesman's target.
Three Systems, One Honest Recommendation
We install all three major flat roofing systems, which means the one we recommend is chosen for your roof rather than defended because it is the only one we sell.
EPDM rubber
A single-ply rubber membrane laid in one sheet with almost no joints. The go-to for garage roofs and straightforward extensions, fitted cold with no flame near your home.
Felt roofing
High-performance built-up felt, a long way from old shed felt. Economical, tough and well suited to dormers, porches and linking roofs across Liverpool's terraced streets.
GRP fibreglass
A seamless liquid-applied finish that cures into one continuous shell, ideal for awkward shapes, roof lights and balconies where sheet systems struggle.
What Liverpool Weather Does to a Flat Roof
Flat roofs around here live a hard life. Rain arrives off the Irish Sea sideways, winters run freeze and thaw in cycles that open up joints, and a lot of the city's garage blocks and rear extensions still carry coverings laid decades ago. The typical failure is rarely dramatic: a seam that has pulled apart, an outlet choked with leaves, an edge trim lifted by wind, or leadwork where the flat roof meets the house that has finally had enough.
That is why we start every flat roofing job the same way, whatever the ending turns out to be. The drone goes up, photographs the whole surface and shows the state of the deck underneath the failures. From that evidence the honest route is usually obvious: a targeted repair, a recover, or a full strip and re-fit with the falls corrected so water reaches the gutter instead of sitting in the middle of the roof.
If your flat roof is already leaking and you need it traced and stopped, that work is covered on our flat roof repairs page, and urgent storm or leak callouts are handled through our emergency roof repairs service. For new flat roofs and re-covers, read on.
How a Flat Roof Job Runs
1. Drone survey, free
4K photographs of the whole roof, edges, upstands and outlets, with no scaffolding cost and no one balancing on a ladder to guess at the condition.
2. Written quote, no pressure
The quote sets out the system, the preparation and the price, in writing, based on the survey. You take whatever time you need with it.
3. Preparation done properly
Old coverings stripped where the deck needs seeing to, rotten boarding replaced, falls corrected and trims set before the new system goes anywhere near the roof.
4. Fitted and evidenced
The system fitted to the maker's method, finished at every upstand and outlet, and photographed when complete so you have the record from start to finish.
One Roofing Team for the Whole Job
Because we are a full roofing contractor, the guttering, fascias, leadwork and chimney your flat roof depends on can be handled in the same project by the same team. The full range is on our Liverpool roofing services page, and general repair work is described on our roof repairs page.
Flat Roofing Liverpool: FAQs
Which flat roof system is best for my roof?
It depends on the shape and the use. EPDM rubber suits simple garage and extension roofs because one sheet covers the lot with almost no joints. GRP fibreglass moulds into awkward shapes and balconies. High-performance felt keeps the budget sensible on dormers and porches. We fit all three and recommend the one your roof needs, not the one we have left on the van.
Do you survey the roof before quoting?
Yes, and the drone goes up first. You get 4K photographs of the whole surface, the edges and the outlets without anyone scaffolding your property, so the quote you receive is based on evidence rather than a guess from the ground.
Can you repair my flat roof instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. If the deck is sound and the failure is one seam, trim or puncture, a targeted repair is the honest spend. If the covering is saturated or the deck has gone, we say so and quote the replacement instead, because a repair we do not believe in is a repair we will not sell.
Do you cover garage and extension roofs?
They are most of our flat work. Detached garages, rear kitchen extensions, dormers and bay tops across Allerton, Mossley Hill, Aigburth, Childwall and Wavertree, fitted in the system that suits each one.
Which areas of Liverpool do you work in?
We are based on Pitville Avenue in L18 and work across Liverpool, with Allerton, Mossley Hill, Aigburth, Childwall and Wavertree as our home patch. If you are elsewhere in the city, call and ask, because we regularly work further afield.
Are your flat roofing quotes free?
Yes, completely free and with no obligation. We survey the roof, talk you through the system options and put the price in writing, and the decision after that stays entirely with you.
